Sierissa (pronounced Shé-Ree-Sa) is a multidisciplinary artist whose art lives at the intersection of softness and truth. An alt-R&B singer/songwriter, Sierissa weaves soul, strength, and vulnerability into every lyric. They create music that feels both intimate and expansive — a gentle rebellion wrapped in melody.
Born in The Netherlands and shaped by her years in Indonesia, Hong Kong, and now Southern California, Sierissa’s international background seeps into every chord and cadence. Her sound merges East and West, tradition and experimentation, creating a sonic identity that is distinctly their own.
Sierissa began writing and self-releasing music at just fourteen years old. What started as a personal school project soon became a lifelong calling. Through songwriting and poetry, Sierissa discovered a medium to express truth, challenge the patriarchy, and explore the nuances of identity and emotion.
Sierissa’s debut single, “Be Your Baby,” written and performed alongside younger sister Guenevere Soemakno, introduces listeners to an upbeat sound that radiates warmth, flow, and self-assurance. The track marks the first chapter of the upcoming EP, To Whom it May Concern; a six-song collection that blends pop and dreamy R&B textures with sincere songwriting.
Armed with a Master’s in Arts & Society and an instinct for storytelling, Sierissa is crafting more than music—they’re building a sanctuary for softness, healing, and reclamation. Whether through ethereal harmonies or understated grooves, Sierissa’s music holds space for transformation and self-discovery.
Sierissa’s upcoming debut EP project “To Whom It May Concern” is a quiet storm; intentional, ethereal, and deeply personal. The EP marks the arrival of an artist unafraid to exist between worlds, finding beauty and meaning in every in-between.
